| The Wharton
County Courthouse was designed in the late 1800’s by famed architect
Eugene Heiner and was built to replace the 1851 structure. The
building has gone through drastic changes over the years and the community
is now in the process of having it restored to its original
1889 status and grandeur. |

Riverfront
Park, under the 1930 Highway 59 Bridge, has been
featured in
the LCRA 2000 Calendar. The park has a relaxing atmosphere for
picnics
and day use with barbecue pits, tables and restrooms. Between
the Bridge
and the park you can enjoy great Mexican food while overlooking
the Colorado
River from the tops of it's banks at Los Cucos Restaurant.
